As a supporter of the Leukaemia Foundation, we help people with a blood cancer diagnosis manage the financial challenges that come with it.

A diagnosis takes over everything. Somewhere behind the treatment plan sits a second problem nobody has the capacity to look at: income has stopped or dropped, sick leave runs out, someone has become a full-time carer, and the household is suddenly paying for travel, accommodation and out-of-pocket costs it never budgeted for.
At the same time, the things that were supposed to help — income protection, trauma cover, total and permanent disability cover inside superannuation, early release of super, Centrelink payments — are exactly the products people find hardest to navigate, and the claims are often the ones that stall.
That combination is what our support is designed for. Not investment advice, and not a product recommendation. Practical work on what money is coming in, what has to go out, what can be paused, and which claims should be made and in what order.

Our advice and services under this partnership are tailored to suit the needs of the community — the questions that actually come up during treatment, rather than a general financial curriculum.
Where a situation needs formal personal advice, that is provided under licence with the usual disclosure documents — and where it does not, we say so.

A practical guide, produced with the Leukaemia Foundation, for people with a blood cancer diagnosis and the people looking after them. It works through budgeting step by step, estimating what treatment will cost, the ways to access more funds — benefits, a Centrelink Financial Information Service officer, a no-interest loan, early access to super, an insurance claim — and practical ideas for reducing expenses, then where to get advice and further help.
General information only. It does not take into account any individual's objectives, financial situation or needs.
If you are a patient, a carer, or you work for an organisation that supports them, get in touch. The first conversation is usually the one that removes the most fear.
