The seedling and the stone
The founder arrived in Australia as a young refugee, the youngest of four siblings and too little to even begin school. Just one year later, tragedy struck - his father passed away unexpectedly, leaving the family in profound grief and uncertainty.
With no extended family, limited English, and four children to raise alone, his mother faced what seemed like an impossible future. But where resources were scarce, her inner strength was boundless. She possessed unwavering determination, remarkable resilience, and a sharp instinct for managing what little they had.
Through sheer grit and relentless perseverance, she nurtured her children into adulthood, creating a home filled with love and safety against all odds. Her journey is a powerful reminder that even in the harshest conditions, hope can take root - like a seedling breaking through stone to reach the light.
